Understanding Your Bill

ACCOUNT NUMBER & NAME: The description of your account. You may use these when you have questions concerning your bill.

CYCLE: This is the billing period for which you are being charged. Bowie-Cass uses four billing cycles.

BILLING DATE: The date on which your bill was generated.

PCRF: PCRF is simply an acronym for Power Cost Recovery Factor. The PCRF is always on your BCEC electric bill and is recalculated every month. The PCRF is NOT included in your base rate. All electric utility bills include a PCRF that reflects the rise and fall in the cost of generating wholesale power - more specifically, the changes in the cost of the fuel required to run the generation plant. Currently, the fuel driving these costs is natural gas.

To better understand how PCRF affects your total bill, read about our rate structure.

BILLING PERIOD: The range of dates for which you are being charged for electric service.

DAYS: The number of days in the current billing cycle. This will fluctuate by month.
